Chicago train stations to get more public art

CHICAGO — Chicago transit officials are on the lookout for artists to create public works of art for three rail stations along the Blue Line.

The Chicago Transit Authority is planning a $492 million overhaul of a section of the line that will shorten the travel time between O'Hare International Airport and downtown.

The agency wants to use the project to transform the look of three stations with public works of art.

Now through early January, the CTA is accepting applications. Prior public art experience is not required.

The agency will hold a community meeting on Monday at the Haas Park Fieldhouse to answer questions from interested artists.
