Lombard celebrates Jinglebell Jubillee

Note to Grinches, Scrooges and anybody else with a heart two sizes too small or inclined to say stuff like “Bah, humbug” at this time of year: You might want to bypass Lombard for the next couple of weeks.

The village officially welcomed the holiday season Saturday with its annual Jinglebell Jubilee, a six-hour celebration of music, activities, lights and, of course, Santa.

Scheduled events included Santa's arrival by fire truck, the lighting of the village tree, and the Holiday Walk Kick-Off Celebration in Lilacia Park.

The Holiday Walk, which includes free visits with Santa and train rides through the festively lighted park, continues from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.

For details on the holiday walk, visit lombardparks.org.
