Bensenville-area man charged with child porn

A Bensenville-area man has been charged with five counts of child pornography following a monthlong investigation by Carol Stream police.

Police said they arrested Earnest W. Brown, 45, of Crest Avenue in an unincorporated area near Bensenville, on Thursday.

A Carol Stream detective initiated the investigation when he became aware of possible criminal activity at the residence. Police executed a search warrant and seized computer equipment and evidence of child pornography, authorities said.

Four Class 2 felony charges of aggravated possession of child pornography were approved because the children were younger than 13, authorities said. Brown also was charged with one count of possession of child pornography where the victim was younger than 18.

Brown has been transported to the DuPage County jail to await a bond hearing.
