Grayslake Christmas open house:

The Grayslake Historical Society hosts a Christmas open house, with a visit from Santa, refreshments and a holiday choir concert from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Historical Society Museum, 164 Hawley St., Grayslake. The traditional free holiday event will also include family craft projects. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will visit with the guests and can have their pictures taken with the family in the vintage sleigh from the museum collection. Light refreshments will include hot chocolate and cookies. At 3 p.m., the Warren Alumni Choir will perform. It is made up entirely of alumni students from choirs taught by Allen Myren, a retired choral director from Warren Township High School in Gurnee. The choir has members ranging from the class of 1973 to the class of 2006.
