National charities at work in DuPage

In addition to our local charities, a number of national organizations regularly have fundraisers and offer support programs in DuPage County. Here’s a look at a few we’ve highlighted this year:

타 LUNGevity supports research into treatments and cures for lung cancer, in part with a walk each November in Naperville. lungevity.org.

타 JDRF, known for the Ron Santo Walk to Cure Diabetes, raises money for research into prevention, treatment and a cure for Type 1 diabetes. A fundraising walk was in October in Warrenville. jdrf.org.

타 Huntington’s Disease Society of America funds research to develop treatments and a cure for the progressive, genetic brain disorder. The annual Team Hope HD Walk for a Cure moved to Naperville in May. hdsa.org.

타 March of Dimes funds research into medicines and treatments to help premature babies and works with parents to prepare them for pregnancy and life with a baby. The March for Babies happens in April in Naperville. marchofdimes.org/illinois/.
