Veterans share personal stories:

The Lake-McHenry Veterans and Family Services program and the Lake Villa District Library will present “Managing the Memories of Combat” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, at the library, 1001 E. Grand Avenue in Lake Villa. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required. The event is designed to inform people about the effects of military combat on the minds of veterans. As part of the program, veterans will tell their personal stories about how they learned to manage their memories in ways that honor and support them.
