12-year-old dies in underage joy ride crash
Authorities in the South suburbs say a 12-year-old boy was killed when an underage driver with a car full of children slammed the vehicle into a tree.
Olympia Fields police say all four people in the car were younger than 16 and residents of Olympia Fields. The Cook County medical examiner’s office reports that a 12-year-old passenger, Armani Kreamer, was pronounced dead at a hospital following the crash Wednesday afternoon.
The other children in the car were hospitalized. Their conditions are unknown. Police so far haven’t released the ages and genders of the other occupants of the car, or whether any of them wore seat belts.
The victim’s mother, Regina Anderson, told WBBM-TV she hopes other children learn from her son’s death.
