Antioch man accused of lying about shooting

An Antioch man is facing felony charges after police say he shot himself in the arm and then lied about it.

The (Lake County) News-Sun reported that 18-year-old Colin Henderson was charged with filing a false police report and possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification card.

Officers responded to Henderson’s Antioch home Monday morning in reference to a call about shots fired.

Henderson had a gunshot wound in his left upper arm and told police he had been shot by someone who had driven away, authorities said. After giving a conflicting report at the hospital, Henderson later admitted to police that he shot himself to get attention, authorities said.

Henderson was ordered held on $25,000 bond. His next court date is Dec. 3.
