Worker burned by power line in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Several hundred homes and businesses in Terre Haute lost electricity after construction workers hit a power line with a boom lift.

Fire battalion chief John Long says one man was taken to a hospital with burns after the accident on Wednesday. Long says two men were in the lift when it hit a high-tension line in an alley along a building where they were working on the roof.

Long tells the Tribune-Star that the other man in the lift wasn’t hurt.

The accident knocked out power to an area near the city’s downtown. Duke Energy reports all power has since been restored in the city.
