House fire extinguished in Prospect Hts.

Firefighters had to bring in trucks with water tanks to help extinguish a house fire Thursday night in a Prospect Heights subdivision that doesn’t have fire hydrants, authorities said.

The fire at a two-story single-family home on the 400 block Cherry Creek Lane was reported at 6:23 p.m. The Prospect Heights Fire Department, assisted by 15 other area fire departments, was able to extinguish the fire by 7:58 p.m., according to a news release.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
