New Route 41 access to open

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital will host a ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, to mark the opening of the new Route 41 access road into the hospital campus. It is a new entrance from the east onto the campus, connecting Route 41 from just north of Deer Path Road with Westmoreland Road, and is part of a hospital campus revitalization project. Construction began this past July. The project’s master plan was approved by the city council last fall and the specific design is under review. The campus revitalization includes a replacement hospital to be built on the campus. Friday’s event will be attended by local dignitaries under a tent at 660 N. Westmoreland Drive and is scheduled to last until 11:30 a.m.
