Pols did right thing on marriage vote

For decades Illinois was, and is, the land corrupt, gutless, scheming, “what’s in it for me,” and criminal politicians. Never doing the “right thing,” But what a shocker they did. For once they did the “right thing” and gave all people the right to marry. For this one brief moment all the “yes voters” can stand proud.

There is so much difficulty, hardship, cruelty, persecution, and hate in this world for its people. Now there is a little more God and love for us to believe in. For religion is about God and God is love. Marriage is not about reproduction, it is about love. There are heterosexual marriages without children and I would bet there is love there. In a marriage with children but no love, is that really a marriage? I don’t think so and I would bet God doesn’t think so either.

The words of a simple reggae song comes to mind ...

“through the books and bibles of time I’ve made up my mind

I don’t condemn, I don’t convert, this is a calling have you heard

bring all the lovers to the fold, cause no one is gonna lose their soul

Love is my religion.”

When our judgment day comes, I believe your God and my God will only be concerned with did you go through life with love in your heart and did you treat people the way you wanted to be treated. God is smiling down, for a brief moment anyway, on our state politicians. Now all of our family, friends, and neighbors are equal in the state of Illinois.
