New art exhibit at CLC:

An exhibit of 15 paintings called “Joel Sheesley: Evidence on the Pavement” will be on display in the College of Lake County Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art starting Friday through Dec. 15. An opening reception, which is free and open to the public, will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the gallery. An art teacher at Wheaton College, Sheesley’s work has been exhibited at places including at the Chicago Cultural Center. In 2008, his painting was the subject of a major retrospective exhibition at the Brauer Museum of Art at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Gallery hours for this free exhibit are: Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m. The gallery will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 27 through Dec. 1.
