Blackhawks, Shaw agree to two-year contract

The Blackhawks have agreed to terms with forward Andrew Shaw on a two-year contract extension through the 2015-16 season.

The 22-year-old Shaw had nine goals and six assists in 48 games last year, his first full season in the NHL. He added five goals and four assists as the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup, and he is currently sixth on the team with 11 points — and 51 hits through 18 games.

The Belleville, Ontario, native was drafted in the fifth round (139th overall) in 2011.

The Blackhawks announced the deal Tuesday.
