Center seeks donations, volunteers for holiday sharing

People’s Resource Center is seeking donations and volunteers for its annual holiday program, “Share the Spirit,” that takes place December 10, 11 and 12. Nearly one thousand local families who would otherwise go without presents come to the DuPage County Fairgrounds on those dates to shop for age-appropriate gifts. Donors are asked to drop off toys, hats and mittens, books, DVDs, gift cards and monetary donations at two locations: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6 at PRC Southeast, 649 Blackhawk, Westmont and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9 at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton. Groups or individuals who want to start a toy drive may go to www.peoplesrc.org/share-spirit-toolkit. People’s Resource Center is also looking for volunteers to help sort toys, accompany families as they select gifts or gift wrap.
