Warren-Newport library board vacancy

Applications are being accepted to fill a vacancy on the Warren-Newport Public Library board. Trustee Mary Ann Bretzlauf recently resigned. The board will hold interviews and make an appointment for the 16-month term in January 2014. Letters of interest and resumes/curricula vitae are due by 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, to Socrates Rivers, vice-president, Board of Trustees, Warren-Newport Public Library, 224 N. O’Plaine Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031. Library trustees meet monthly to establish policies, approve and monitor the annual library budget, determine the library’s service program, keep abreast of library law and standards in the field, and employ the executive director. The library district serves a 55-square mile area that covers all or most of Warren and Newport townships.
