Chicago to crack down on illegal cigarettes

Chicago authorities say they’re cracking down on the illegal sale of cigarettes.

The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection made the announcement. Officials say they department will increase the size of its special enforcement unit by 50 percent next year. The unit conducts sting operations on problem businesses.

Last year the department confiscated more than 31,000 packs of illegal cigarettes.
