Plaque of honor for Metra board member?

Arlene Mulder is still on the Metra board despite the severance scandal surrounding CEO Alex Clifford. The suburban commissioners of Cook County, that appointed her to the board, have asked for her resignation. As Commissioner “Liz” Doody Gorman said, the scandal-ridden board has lost the public’s trust and “a clean start is needed to restore the public’s confidence in Metra.” As a result Mrs. Mulder has indicated she will resign in June 2014.

Yet given all the above, Arlington Heights Village President Thomas Hayes dedicated a plaque to Mrs. Mulder for “her participation in transportation-related matters.” But in my opinion there is an ironic end to this story. That plaque dedicated to Metra board member Mulder is permanently located in the Arlington Heights Metra station. May we all remember.
