Vernon Hills cops support Toys for Tots

The Vernon Hills police station 754 Lakeview Parkway, will again be a drop-off location through Dec. 16 for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.

All kinds of toys can be donated. The Marine Corps will distribute according to age. Some ideas for older children include sporting equipment/bags/balls, books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, watch/wallet gift sets, bath gift sets, board games, radio control cars/trucks, hand-held electronics, skateboards/helmets, curling irons, hair straighteners, and hair dryers.

The Toys for Tots program accepts new, unwrapped items. Realistic looking weapons or gifts with food will not be accepted.

The drop-off box at the police facility is available 24 hours a day. The Vernon Hills village hall, 290 Evergreen Drive, and public works facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive, also are drop off locations. Visit www.vhpd.com or call (847) 247-4889 for more information.
