The Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Foundation Sunday held its 34th annual induction ceremony and banquet at The Centre of Elgin.

Over 200 people attended and witnessed five new inductees — Anton Kossakowski, Alan Lettow, Jeff Myers, Dave Russell and Vince Webber — take their place in the Hall of Fame, bringing the number of inductees to 158 since the hall’s inception in 1980.

Twenty-five Elgin area student-athletes were awarded $1,000 scholarships. The foundation has now awarded over $353,000 in scholarships since beginning with one $500 award in 1980.
