Police said man leaves with unknown amount of money

A St. Charles Subway restaurant was robbed early Sunday night, police announced Monday.

Police responded at 5:25 p.m. to the sandwich shop at 570 S. Randall Road for an “armed robbery that just occurred.”

A restaurant employee said a white male approached the employee, stated he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect, described as being about 6-feet tall and 220 pounds, with gray hair, a beard, wearing a red baseball hat, a long sleeve denim shirt, blue jeans and powder blue latex gloves, never displayed a weapon.

The employee stated the offender’s hands were unconcealed during the incident, and never threatened the safety of the employee.

The subject was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said. There was no vehicle information given to officers, other than a silver four-door sport utility vehicle of an unknown make and model, drove past shortly after the incident. Police said it is unknown whether the SUV was involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call St. Charles Police Investigations Unit at (630) 377-4435.
