Ÿ Samphan Pakhotama, 32, of the 1400 block of Blackhawk Circle, South Elgin, was charged Oct. 22 with retail theft, according to a police report. The report did not provide details of where police said the theft occurred. Pakhotama was transported to the Kane County jail.
Ÿ Store security at Walmart, 150 Smith Road, reported to police Oct. 29 a computer was stolen from the electronics department. The police report indicates a man entered the store at about 9 a.m. and placed the computer box into a shopping cart. While moving around the store, the suspect removed the alarm sensor from the box. When a clerk found the sensor and asked the man if he needed help, the suspect ran out of the store with the computer and sped away in his car. The computer is described as an Acer All-in-One Touch and Play valued at $325. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s with short brown hair and a light-colored beard.
