McHenry man charged after ATV crash

A McHenry man who was injured in an ATV crash Sunday has been charged with driving under the influence, McHenry County Sheriff’s officials said.

At about 3 p.m., Nunda Township Fire Protection District responded to a crash at Riverside Drive and Kerry Avenue an unincorporated area near McHenry.

They found Timothy P. Ritchie, 40, injured after his ATV rolled over and landed on top of him, according to a release by the sheriff’s office. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

Ritchie was later charged with driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license, operating an ATV on the roadway and careless operation of an ATV.

He was issued a $3,000 bond and appears next in court on Nov. 18.
