TMA Members out in force at Elk Grove Manufacturing Expo

(Park Ridge)- The inaugural “Made in Elk Grove Manufacturing Expo" held Tuesday featured 88 exhibitors — primarily manufacturing companies in Elk Grove — and some 900 registered attendees from the Chicago, Milwaukee and Hammond, Ind., industrial areas, including representatives from more than 20 TMA companies. “It was a great event and really highlighted the amount of quality manufacturing we have in the area,” stated TMA Board Member Jim Carr, President of CARR Machine & Tool, Inc. “It was nice to see many of the great TMA companies showcasing their products and making business connections,” he added.

Additional TMA Board Members present were Paul Prikos of X-L Engineering, Bob Clifford of ACME Industries, Board Treasurer Fernando Ortiz of Roberts Swiss, Inc. as well as TMA President Brian McGuire. The following TMA member companies had booths:

520 Machinery Sales Hausner Hard Chrome

ACME Industries Helm Tool

Ally Supply M & R Precision

AM Precision MET Plastics

CARR Machine & Tool Midaco Corp.

Comet Tool Plastic Powerdrive

Duratrack Rode Welding

Edwards Engineering The Diemasters

EMCO Gears X-L Engineering

FPM Heat Treating

"There's an amazing amount of manufacturing here," said Josh Grodzin, the village's director of business development and marketing. "We wanted to tell the story that we still make things in this country and that a lot of it is in Elk Grove. Hopefully this will expand and grow local businesses ... It's about keeping what you have and adding some more.”

About TMA: 8 small manufacturing companies who thought they could better themselves by associating with one another founded TMA in 1925. Through the years, members established programs and services that would help their businesses grow and prosper, train their employees, and provide medical and retirement benefits. As a result of these efforts, TMA has grown into a 1,000 member not-for-profit organization representing almost 30,000 employees of precision manufacturing and supplier companies throughout Illinois.
