ST. CHARLES - Oct. 28, 2013 - As he makes his way across the country visiting his favorite Little Italy neighborhoods, actor Chazz Palminteri gets back to the heart of it - why he loves New York, and the story that became the Hollywood movie, "A Bronx Tale," about his own boyhood in The Bronx. Palminteri is headed to St. Charles November 10, when he will perform his one-act play that started it all. "A Bronx Tale" starring Chazz Palminteri is set for 5 PM at the historic Arcada Theatre in downtown St. Charles.

In honor of the Oscar nominated star, Ron Onesti, President and CEO of The Arcada Theatre, is creating a weekend long "Boys from The Bronx Bash" to celebrate his long time friend's visit and special one-night performance at the Arcada.

"I just love New York, and my favorite movie is 'A Bronx Tale,' so it just doesn't get better than this," Onesti said. "Chazz and I have been friends for years...this is a long time coming!"

Palminteri wrote the one-act play that tells the story of a young boy growing up in the Bronx, influenced and loved by two central men: his father, played by Robert DeNiro in his directorial debut, and the mobster who ran the neighborhood and took the young boy under his wing, played by Palminteri. Chazz will portray all twenty-seven characters that are in the film in an extraordinary one-man show. The story showcases the powerful circumstances that shaped him as a young boy and as a teenager, focusing on the the age-old premise that "Crime don't pay," and "The worst thing in life is wasted talent." It is set in a raw Italian American neighborhood in 1960s Bronx, New York.

"A Bronx Tale" returned recently to Broadway to sold out performances every night, has toured the country welcomed by standing ovations, and sold out at the Bank of America Theatre in Chicago in 2010.

In a separately ticketed event and as part of "Boys of the Bronx" weekend, one of the country's most popular bands, The Bronx Wanderers, will bring their dynamic show to the Arcada on both Saturday and Sunday nights. The Bronx Wanderers bring East-coast hits to the Midwest with songs from Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, The Four Seasons, Dion & The Belmonts and many other groups that formed on the street corners of New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia in the 1960s and 1970s. The Wanderers return for a command performance Sock Hop after hugely successful appearances in Onesti's Chicago Italian festivals over the summer and two sold out shows at The Arcada last winter.

"When it comes to the music of the Bronx, Vinny and the boys do it right!" said Onesti. "You will rarely see a band that connects with their audience the way these guys do. And to watch Little Vinny on keys and Nicky Stix on the drums is a jaw dropping experience. Not only do they bring us back with all the Frankie Valli and Dion hits, but they also rock out the contemporary stuff, with Bruno Mars and Coldplay covers...it's great for all ages!"

Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday sock hops are $19 and for "A Bronx Tale" start at $49. The Arcada Theatre is located at 105 East Main Street in Downtown St. Charles. For tickets and more information, log onto www.oshows.com or call 630.962.7000.
