Car with Mass. plates crashes in Conn., killing 4
PORTLAND, Conn. — Police say a car with Massachusetts license plates has crashed in Connecticut, killing four people and critically injuring a fifth.
Sgt. Scott Cunningham tells The Associated Press that the crash occurred at 2:45 a.m. Saturday in Portland. Police tell WVIT-TV that the car slammed into a metal guardrail and spun out of control at the corner of two roads.
The dead include two men and two women. A third woman is in critical condition.
Neighbors tell the station that the stretch of road where the accident occurred is dangerous and that it isn't the first crash they've seen there.
Cunningham says investigators are trying to determine whether speed was a factor in the crash.
Police are still trying to determine the victims' identities.
