Fourth teen charged in girl’s rape

A fourth Chicago teenager has been charged in the 2012 videotaped assault of a 12-year-old girl.

Cook County state’s attorney spokesman Tandra Simon says aggravated criminal sexual assault charges were filed Friday against 16-year-old Dyquier Garrett. Garrett, charged as an adult, is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. Prosecutors didn’t reveal what led to Garrett’s arrest.

Scandale Fritz and Justin Applewhite, both 16, and 15-year-old Kenneth Brown, arrested in May, are being held in lieu of $900,000 bond each.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported the girl was visiting Fritz’s home when, authorities allege, he took her to the basement and sexually assaulted her. Authorities say Brown and Applewhite later sexually assaulted the girl as Fritz videotaped them.

Prosecutors say the video, posted on the teens’ Facebook pages, shows Fritz’s face.
