BatFest: Batavia Riverwalk, Houston Street and Island Avenue: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Halloween parade at 11:45 a.m.; games, hayrides, downtown trick-or-treating, stories and songs, and costume contest at 1:30 p.m. and Monster Mash at 1 p.m. Pumpkin Roll from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $1 per roll; bring your own pumpkin or buy one from the Boy Scouts. Halloween in the Hollow: Sabatino Park, Winmoor Drive and Willow Lane, Sleepy Hollow: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Halloween Party: Grafelman Park, Route 72 and Fifth Street, West Dundee: Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Entry fee is a canned or boxed food donation for the local food pantry. Sycamore Pumpkin Festival: Downtown Sycamore: the 52nd annual festival runs through Sunday, Oct. 27, and features hundreds of decorated pumpkins, teen and kiddie carnivals, a scary stories program, pie-eating contest, Autumn Craft and Treasures Market, the Sycamore Chamber 10K Road Run, giant pumpkin weigh-in and golf scramble. Pumpkin Fest: Cosley Zoo, 136 N. Gary Ave., Wheaton: Wander the pumpkin patch, pick out a favorite pumpkin and climb a straw pyramid. Admission is $5 for nonresident adults; $4 for nonresidents 55 and older; free members, Wheaton Park District members and children 17 and younger. Runs through Thursday, Oct. 31. Pumpkinfest on the Fox: The Broken Oar, 614 Rawson Bridge Road, Port Barrington. The public is invited to carve/decorate pumpkins to fill a 100-foot riverfront wall at the Pumpkinfest on the Fox festival. Each night in October (at dusk), the pumpkins on the wall will be lit. Pumpkin sales and carving will be held on weekends for a $5 donation per pumpkin. Other highlights include live entertainment, free hot dogs, a pumpkin pie-eating contest and more. Proceeds go to the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Weekend events run from noon to dusk on Saturdays and Sundays, through Sunday, Oct. 27. Morton Arboretum's Fall Color Fest: Morton Arboretum, 4100 Route 53, Lisle. Events include a scarecrow walking trail, a glass pumpkin patch, the Family Jack O'Lantern Hike and more. Tom's Fall Fest: Tom's Farm Market, 10214 Algonquin Road, Huntley: Runs through Thursday, Oct. 31. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
