Wizards beat Cavaliers in preseason

CINCINNATI — Bradley Beal scored 21 points and Trevor Ariza added 19 as the Washington Wizards erased a 16-point third-quarter deficit before pulling away for a 101-82 preseason victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Reserve Al Harrington scored 17 points and Trevor Booker added 10 for the Wizards (2-5), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Ariza gave the Wizards the lead for good at 73-72 with a 3-pointer from the right corner with 1.7 seconds left in the third quarter.

John Wall, a star at nearby Kentucky before being drafted by the Wizards, had more turnovers (4) than points (3) in 26 minutes.

Kyrie Irving scored 19 points and Tristan Thompson had 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Cavaliers (4-3), who have alternated wins and losses since winning their first two preseason games.
