Casino gives OCC $150,000 for scholarships
Rivers Casino in Des Plaines is donating $150,000 to Oakton Community College to provide 1-year scholarships for Des Plaines residents. Rivers Casino General Manager Bill Keena will present OCC President Margaret Lee with the check at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at the OCC campus, 1600 East Golf Road. “Rivers Casino ... has been a remarkable partner and a good neighbor, providing strong support for the College,” said Lee. In 2013, Rivers Casino has awarded more than $1 million for educational based programs to 16 organizations in Des Plaines and in the region.
