3 die in Glenview after garbage truck hits car

Authorities say three people died in a fiery garbage truck crash in Chicago’s northern suburbs.

Glenview police say all three people died Tuesday afternoon when their car was struck by an oncoming garbage truck from the village of Skokie.

Autopsies are planned Wednesday.

In a statement, Skokie village officials say the car went through a stop sign when it was hit by the garbage truck. The truck’s 19-year-old driver wasn’t injured.

The crash is being investigated and authorities say so far no charges have been filed.
