Shutdown shows mixed-up priorities

How is it in a trillion-dollar budget the Obama administration cannot find sufficient funds to keep open the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C., and the American Cemetery in Normandy, France? How is it Jay Carney, Valerie Jarrett, the cooks, butler and valets for the Obamas are paid during the shutdown as “essential” workers while living and dead veterans are disrespected as nonessential?
