Elk Grove plans Lively Boulevard improvements

Elk Grove Village is planning an estimated $3,178,400 in roadway improvements to a portion of Lively Boulevard in the industrial park.

The village board voted this week to approve a $293,293.24 contract with Civiltech Engineering for project design engineering services.

The project includes the reconstruction of Lively from Thorndale to Devon avenues, improvements at the intersections of Mark Street and Kirk Street for enhanced truck turning, railroad crossing improvements, storm sewer rehabilitation, and landscaping.

Federal funds will cover 80 percent of the project cost, and the village will pay the rest.

The project is expected to go out to bid in January 2015.
