We can pay furloughed workers not to work?

So now we hear that our elected representatives have voted to pay all furloughed government workers. What’s wrong with this picture? If they can pay them not to work, then pay them to work. If you want to argue that there is no money to fund the service provided, then let the now re-employed workers do as much preliminary work for their customers, so that when the government decides to stop bickering and start governing, there is work on hand to complete. There will still be a delay in the service, but it will be minimized.

And is anyone else just a little ticked off that through all this, the president, Congress and Senate receive their paycheck? Constituents suffer, but not the officials creating the problem. How many of you could say that you would still have a job like if you performed like this? What is wrong with this picture, and when is the voting public going to put a stop to it?
