‘Barns of Lake County’:

The program “Barns of Lake County” will be hosted by the Grayslake Historical Society at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum, 164 Hawley St., Grayslake. The free program, presented by historian and author Nancy Burgess Schumm, ties in with the museum’s newest exhibit, “Farms: Seeds of Our Community,” which traces the agricultural heritage of Grayslake by displaying artifacts, images and farm implements. The museum will be open following the program. Refreshments will be served. The museum is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and during downtown community events. For more information, call (847) 223-7663.
