Speed bumps could prevent a tragedy

Thanks to the Village of Arlington Heights for installing a beautiful and much-needed playground and basketball court on Falcon Street. More than 50 kids are in the park every day after school.

The park is located in the middle of a long two-block stretch and both parents and kids are crossing in the middle of the street. Because it’s a long two blocks no one ever walks to the corner to cross.

Cars coming off the tollway and off Algonquin Road almost always speed down Falcon, especially after work at dusk, just when kids are running across the street, looking at the park and not watching the traffic. It is unbelievably dangerous.

To avoid an accident, please consider either speed bumps or a stop sign to slow down traffic on Falcon and prevent a tragedy.
