Man in critical condition after South Barrington crash

One man suffered severe injuries in a vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in South Barrington, officials said.

Barrington Fire Department Lt. Bruce Peterson said rescue crews were dispatched to the two-vehicle wreck about 1:50 p.m. The collision occurred at Algonquin and Penny roads.

Peterson said the badly injured man had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. He said the man was in critical condition Saturday night at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Two other vehicle occupants were treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, fire officials said.

South Barrington police handled the crash but were unavailable for comment Saturday night.
