• Olivar Modesto, 17, of the 300 block of Delaware Street in Carpentersville, was arrested by the Kane County Child Advocacy Center and charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under 13 after an incident that took place Oct. 1, court records show. Modesto's bail was set at $2 million in Kane County bond court; he is next due in court Oct. 7.

• Safandre S. Lindsey, 32, of the 600 block of Douglas Avenue in Elgin, was charged with forgery and issuing or delivering a forged document after he cashed a check July 31, court records show. Lindsey's bail was set at $20,000 in Kane County bond court; he is next due in court Oct. 9.


• Yecenia L. Avila, 31, of the 2400 block of White Rose Drive in Montgomery, was arrested Tuesday in Elgin and charged with prostitution and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Avila's bail was set at $5,000 in Kane County bond court; her next court date is Oct. 7.

• Ilyas Burrows, 20, of the 0-100 block of Park Row in Elgin, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, obstructing justice/destroying evidence, and disorderly conduct, court records said. Burrows pointed a firearm at someone on Sept. 29 and then threw it in the Fox River, police said. His bail was set at $15,000 in Kane County bond court; he is next due in court Oct. 4.
