Throughout October Giordano's celebrates national pizza month with its 16-inch Chicago classic stuffed pie with pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and onions for $31.25. A 16-inch bacon barbecue chicken thin-crust pizza with sauce-basted chicken, bacon and balsamic onions in barbecue sauce costs $28.75, and the 16-inch Derrick Rose special thin crust made with sausage and roasted red pepper is $27.25.

Flatbread and football

Football and breast cancer awareness specials dominate the month of October at Wickets Bar and Grill. Order a “pink” brick oven flatbread topped with roasted tomatoes, ricotta cheese and basil for $9. A portion of the proceeds benefit breast cancer education. Raffles for pink Bears gear take place each game day.

The selection includes steak tartare (filet mignon, capers, onion and egg yolk) for $13, veal Oscar with colossal crab meat and asparagus spears and bearnaise sauce for $36, duck a l'orange with mashed sweet potatoes for $33 and a decadent dessert of strawberries in champagne with whipped cream for $7.
