Palatine learning center to hold grand reopening celebration

Oxford Learning in Palatine will hold a grand reopening celebration from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, to recognize its new name, GradePower Learning.

The center, which offers families and children help in grade remediation, enrichment, ACT prep and meta-cognitive testing, is located at 764 W. Euclid Ave. Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz will be on hand to cut the ribbon at 11:15 a.m.

Education Director Joan Caton said the Palatine center, owned by Mark Cummings, opened eight years ago as one of about 10 U.S. franchises opened by Canada-based Oxford. GradePower Learning is now the partnership between the founders of Oxford Learning and the founders of Minuteman Press International.
