Beach Park man accused of preying on child

Lake County authorities say a Beach Park man has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, child pornography and aggravated sexual abuse. Officials announced Tuesday that Kevin M. Stirnichuk, 53, of the 38000 Block of North Avenue, was arrested on the accusations Sept. 25. Police said a relative of the victim reported to the Lake County sheriff’s office on Sept. 22 that there are videos on Stirnichuk’s personal computer of him engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with the victim, who is younger than 13. Stirnichuk was held Tuesday on a $500,000 bail. Police said they believe there are additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to call Lake County Sheriff’s Police Det.
