Meadows, Viator net volleyball victories

Senior libero Grace Skorin served 5 aces and came up with 5 digs to help the Rolling Meadows girls volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-13 victory over visiting Westminster Christian on Monday night.

Lauren Sokolowski added 6 digs and 3 aces for the Mustangs, who improved to 10-8.

Top attackers for the winners were Hannah Mickey (5 kills), Jenny Vliet (4 kills) and Ashley Montanez (2 kills), who led her team with 3 blocks.

Vliet was also 10-of-10 setting with 3 assists while teammate Sami Kay was 28-of-34 with 8 assists.

St. Viator d Warren: St. Viator (13-8) received 10 kills and 2 aces from senior Mary Cleary in a 25-19, 25-23 over host Warren.

Senior Megan Mueller was 14-of-14 serving with 3 aces and added 5 kills while junior Grace Fedus and senior Kristen Abrahamson each added 2 kills.

Senior Molly Ziegler (51-of-51, 15 assists) and junior Kaitlin O’Brien (23-of-23, 7 assists) set the Lions’ attack while sophomore libero Ellie Meyer sparked the back row with 16 digs.

Stevenson d. Buffalo Grove: Host Stevenson won the nonconference match 25-17, 25-22 over the Bison (5-8) in Prairie View.

BG was led by senior Alaina Murphy (5 kills, 2 aces), senior Sarah Rivera (6 kills, 11 digs) and junior Marie Georgoulis (12 assists).
