SUV plows into 2 men, restaurant in Chicago

CHICAGO — An SUV plowed into two men standing outside a Chicago restaurant and crashed into the building, sending the victims hurtling through the front window.

Police spokesman Jose Estrada says the incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a restaurant on the South Side.

He says the two victims were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition.

The driver of the SUV fled and had not been apprehended as of midday Saturday.

Estrada did not have the victims’ ages and had no information on whether the crash was intentional or an accident.

Local TV footage showed the RJ Fish & Chicken restaurant’s heavily damaged front. Glass was shattered and bricks and other debris was scattered on the front sidewalk.
