Cigelnik sets tone for Mundelein victory

Mundelein d. Lake Zurich: At Hawthorn Woods Country Club, Bret Cigelnik fired a 36 to lead the Mustangs (154) past the Bears (190).

Derek Parola and Jon Lentz carded a 38 and 39, respectively, for Mundelein. Ryan Magee and Tyler White each had a 41.

Lake Zurich’s Teddy Noll shot a 46.

Libertyville d. Zion-Benton: At Pine Meadow Golf Club, Billy Knutson’s 36 and Jack Lipp’s 37 helped the Wildcats (157) get past the Zee-Bees (163).

Grayslake Central d. Wauconda: At Countryside, Kyle Reynolds earned medalist honors with a 40 to help the Rams (169) edge the Bulldogs (171).

Carmel d. Vernon Hills: At White Deer Run, Jackson Wietecha fired an even-par 36 and the Corsairs (157) earned the win over the host Cougars (172).

Nick Tasch added a 39 for Carmel.

Ricky Schmidt’s 40 paced Vernon Hills.
