Jung leads Vernon Hills

Lake Forest d. Vernon Hills: At Vernon Hills Golf Course, Cougars freshman Faith Jung earned medalist honors with a 44.

Lake Forest scored a 185-190 victory, receiving five scores in the 40s, including 45s from Emily Young and Geniveno Foster.

Kari Lee added a 46 for Vernon Hills.

Grant d. Lakes: At Antioch Golf Course, Kaylie Kanzler was the medalist with a 46, leading the Bulldogs (204) to victory over the Eagles (215).

Lauren Clark shot a 50 for Lakes.

Carmel d. Johnsburg: At Heather Ridge, sophomore Kayla Ryan’s match-best 40 paced the Corsairs (186) to 23-stroke victory.

Carmel (14-3) also counted Alexa Amato’s 46, Sophie Butz’s 49 and Eva Savovich’s 51.

On Wednesday, the Corsairs wrapped up a 9-0 campaign in East Suburban Catholic Conference play. Playing at Oak Springs in St. Anne, Carmel shot a season-low 176 to earn wins over Nazareth Academy (190), Fenwick (195) and Bishop McNamara (no score, 3 players). It marked the first time since 2002 that the Corsairs won the ESCC regular-season championship. Ryan earned medalist honors with a 40.
