Elk Grove, DuPage County team for flood control study

Elk Grove Village and DuPage County plan to share the cost of an engineering study that examines flood control storage along Salt Creek.

It’s one of the steps officials plan to take before modifications are made to the Busse Woods Dam, located near Cosman Road in Elk Grove Village, in an effort to alleviate flooding.

The village will pay Wills, Burke, Kelsey and Associates $83,480 to complete an engineering modeling study, and $189,600 to complete the final design and prepare construction plans for the dam modifications. The county plans to reimburse the village with $98,000 for the studies, and has requested eight towns in the county each contribute $12,250.

The county board will consider approval of an agreement for the work with Elk Grove on Oct. 8.
