Macias, McKearnan pace Warren victory

Rafa Macias scored twice, Jack McKearnan had a goal and 3 assists, and Warren’s boys soccer team blanked visiting Oswego East 5-0 in a nonconference match Tuesday night.

Elijah Parker and Lucas Geib also scored for Warren (6-2-4), while keeper R.J. Hill earned his sixth shutout of the season. Dalton Moffitt and Mikey Cain had assists as well for the defending state champs.

Stevenson 3, Lakes 2: Ethan Marx scored twice for the Patriots in the North Suburban crossover.

Jacob Krause also scored for Stevenson (5-2-4). Max Klaber, Cobi Illian and Sam Zwirn had assists. Patriots keeper Jeremy Klaber made 9 saves.

Lakes (5-5) got goals from Brian Werchek and Jon Borzick.

Lake Forest 3, Vernon Hills 0: Robert Schyns, John Moderwell and Keegan Filkin scored in the second half for the Scouts (6-5-1) in the North Suburban crossover.

“I thought we created a ton of chances in the first half, and we are proud of our boys,” Vernon Hills coach Mike McCaulou said. “We did what we planned to do coming out tonight. We had 3-4 great set pieces but could not capitalize. That is soccer. Lake Forest is a quality team with a bunch of good athletes.”

Mundelein 2, Grant 0: The host Mustangs scored a goal in each half of the North Suburban crossover.

Grant goalie Nick Heidenthal had 8 saves.

Libertyville 1, Antioch 0: Kevin Reilly scored off an assist from Kenny Gallagher, as the Wildcats prevailed in the North Suburban crossover.

Sam Muchmore earned his third shutout of the season in net for Libertyville (6-4).

Grayslake North 2, Crystal Lake Central 1 (PK): Sophomore Kyle Hensley scored the only goal in regulation for the Knights, who prevailed 4-3 in the penalty-kick shootout. Chris Zamora earned the assist on Hensley’s tally.

It was the Fox Valley Fox Division opener for Grayslake North (4-7), which got the game-winning PK from Zachary Kottmer. Knights keeper Nabojsa Markovic saved the fifth and final PK of the shootout.
