Two Chicago men charged in slaying of mom, daughter

Cook County officials say two men have been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of a mother and daughter whose bodies were found in the trunk of a burning vehicle.

The Sheriff's Department says 50-year-old Robert Danno and 24-year-old Jose Fernardo Martinez-Hernandez are set to appear in bond court Tuesday morning.

Officials say the bodies of Danno's wife, 51-year-old Mary Ann Urban-Danno, and her mother, 79-year-old Theresa Urban, were discovered Saturday in a nature preserve in unincorporated Palos Park.

The deaths were ruled homicides after autopsies Sunday found both women had been strangled.

According to the sheriff, Danno and Martinez-Hernandez killed the women in Chicago then drove the bodies to the forest preserve in a PT Cruiser owned by Urban-Danno and set it on fire.
