Mundelein pedestrian struck by car hospitalized
A pedestrian was struck by a car while crossing the road Friday night on the 1500 block of South Lake Street north of Route 60 in Mundelein, a fire official said Saturday.
Firefighters arrived at the accident site around 8:05 p.m. Within minutes, the victim, who had suffered severe injuries, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Battalion Chief Kevin McKinley said.
“The patient was found on top of the rear window of the car when the ambulance got there,” McKinley said.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, he said.
Mundelein Police could not be reached for further details.
