Oak Brook vehicle fire damages home

Firefighters are investigating the cause of a Oak Brook garage fire that damaged a home Wednesday afternoon.

According to a news release, the crews responded to a report of a vehicle fire on the 100 block of Woodland Drive around 1:55 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a fully involved fire in an attached garage that extended partly into the house.

The occupants of the house had escaped before crews arrived. There were no injuries.

The fire was extinguished by 2:26 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Nine additional fire departments and the Oak Brook police department assisted the firefighters.
